My beef is that most of officers wearing body cams can turn off or mute his/her camera. It should be recording the minute it is issued during roll call or in service and record until they get back in at end of shift and checked in by a supervisor who is responsible for every camera and it's contents and download them into a secure server. The officer, his supervisor, police command are liable for any discrepancies in his body cam.
ReplyDeleteYou're right that there needs to be continual recording and there definitely needs to be some oversight. Maybe even a police oversight commission but then you're going to have some anti-LEO cards trying to get involved. But somebody needs to be watching.
